25/03/2021: Developing work into informational images.

I used a combination of digital and traditional skills to produces the following outcomes which place my drawings I have made into situations where they give the viewer some information. I am still trying to work on my design skills and I want to research into typography more so that I can resolve this problem in crating artworks such as these.

Coastal birds collage: This images is a collections of the most common costal birds which can be found in Brittan. I wanted to compile all of the research and sketches I made when looking into costal birds as something I am doing for the national trust project. I decided to make some drawings of costal birds and their eggs using a mixture of water colour and crayon as these are my must used mediums. From this image, the viewer can see clear examples of costal birds and what their eggs might look like. This image would look nice wither as a print or a poster or in a book about birds. I really like the sensitivity of the drawings mixed with the hand written lettering. I wanted to also include some costal flora into the piece to add a bit more colour so I added this drawing of some Sea Champion which is a flower commonly found along side British coasts.

Overall, I really like the outcome of these pieces as I feel that they are starting to fit more into the type of illustration work I want to be making. I really like the use of hand written text as this gives teh piece a more personal feel whilst being delicate enough to not distract the viewers attention from the illustrations. I am enjoying working in this way were I can combine drawing and collage and digitally pull the whole thing together, I think that I will make some more information based pieces and experiment with other ways of communicating learning with the viewer.
