07/12/2020: Clover Robin artist research.

Clover Robin is an artist based in the UK who specialises in cut paper images. I discovered her work whilst browsing on Pinterest and I can see some similarities in both of out methodology and imagery. Robin mainly creates work that is focused around the natural world and various places. I really like her approach to creating the shapes she uses which appears to be heavily influenced by cubism. This is evident through her use of angular lines which often alters the perspective of the object very slightly which is a stylistic trait commonly found within art of the cubism movement. Artists such as Picasso can be attributed to the link between collage and cubistic qualities.

Furthermore, I also really like the colour pallet Robin uses in her works - it is largely earth toned with occasional pops of colour. I also like how pronounced her textures are in the paper she creates - you can literally see the brush strokes in some instances.
